Running a session indoors without losing energy

In Singapore, indoor sessions are often the sensible choice. They avoid the midday heat and sudden afternoon storms, and they keep everyone close to transport and food. The risk is that an air-conditioned room with a projector can turn into another meeting. Some simple choices keep the energy up.

Choose a room that suits movement

Look for clear floor space, chairs that can be moved, and enough room for groups to work without hearing each other's answers. A room that is perfect for a presentation may be awkward for a hands-on challenge.

Change the pace every so often

Alternate between active and reflective segments. A short challenge, a brief discussion, then something physical again. Long stretches of sitting drain a room quickly, especially after lunch.

Use the whole room

Set up stations in different corners, move groups between them, and keep one area for the debrief. Movement around the room creates a sense of progress even in a small space.

Plan breaks and food

Schedule breaks before people need them. Light food and water nearby help, and a heavy lunch right before an active segment rarely works.
